Apply for the Real Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee
As readers of this blog know, the Real Sydney Taylor Book Award is presented annually to outstanding books for children and teens that authentically portray the Jewish experience. Presented by the Association of Jewish Libraries since 1968, the award encourages the publication and widespread use of quality Judaic literature. Gold medals are presented in three categories: Picture Books, Middle Grade, and Young Adult. Honor Books are awarded silver medals, and Notable Books are named in each category. AJL is seeking new members to serve a two year term on the Sydney Taylor Book Award (STBA) committee beginning in January 2022 and ending with the Association of Jewish Libraries annual conference in June 2024. Committee members are expected to: Read 120+ picture book, middle grade, and young adult books throughout the calendar year, score them, and write up notes.
